Standard services included in a wedding booking include:

  • Marriage Celebrant CarmenA careful and thorough preliminary interview.
  • A copy of Ceremonies and Celebrations by Dally R. Messenger, a comprehensive ceremony guide to help you decide upon your own wording and format for your ceremony.
  • Access to a library of reference books about ceremonies and weddings.
  • One professionally presented copy of your ceremony as a memento.
  • Help completing required legal documents and registering the wedding at the Births, Deaths and Marriages Office in the state where the wedding will be performed.
  • Consultation or advice by phone or in person on an as-needs basis.
  • A brief wedding rehearsal either at the venue or, more typically, at the couple’s home, approximately two days before the event. Final signing of documents prior to the wedding takes place at the same time.
  • Plenty of time set aside to ensure there is no rush and no competing commitments - I generally only conduct ONE ceremony per day.
  • Appropriate dress to suit the style of wedding.
  • Availability of a folding table with white table cloth and two chairs/sashes, if needed.
  • Availability of a PA system for indoor/outdoor use with iPod and connection for music, if needed. No external power required.

Optional Extras:

  • Non-Government Wedding Certificates ( Renewals/commitments) - $10.00
  • Attendance or Appreciation Certificates ( Typed) - $5.00*
  • Grandparent, Godparent, Guardian or Mentor Certificates - $5.00
  • Extra Copies of Chosen Ceremony - $10.00
  • Wedding or Naming Candle (not customised) - $ 15.00

*Attendance Certificates are optional and are typically given to members of the Bridal Party. Likewise, Appreciation Certificates are given to people who have been involved in the preparation of the wedding.

Travelling Fees:

Fees are levied for longer distances, because of the time and cost involved in travelling and current high petrol prices

The Ceremony Fee covers traveling within the metropolitan Adelaide.  A reasonable travelling distance has been defined as a return journey of 30 kilometers.  However, I define the Metropolitan Adelaide by the following locations:

North                          Elizabeth
North East                   Cudlee Creek
East                            Lobethal
South East                   Hahndorf
South                          Clarendon
West                           The Coast (Glenelg/ Port Adelaide)

The following fees are levies for the nominated areas:

Areas

Fees

Barossa Valley

$65

Echunga

McLaren Vale/Willinga

Murray Bridge/Mannum

$55

Mid-North Clare

Port Noarlunga

$40

Strathalbyn/Meadows

$50

Victor Harbour/Goolwa

$70

Car Parking:

My fees assume your ceremony venue can make short term parking available close to the ceremony for the celebrant. I ask for this help because often I will be laden with a brief case, folding table, chairs, PA, etc, and need a park close to the event.

If I need to park in a parking station, such as in many CBD and Glenelg venues, I will need to pass on the parking fees which sometimes can be as high as $25.

Total Fees:

Fees for all ceremonies will be calculated at the initial interview, and: Margaret's Art Show Opening, Carmen Walker-Galpin Marriage Celebrant, Adelaide

  • A deposit of $100 is due and payable at time of booking the ceremony. In the case of a Wedding, the deposit is payable at the time of the submission to the Celebrant of the Notice of Intended Marriage and is not refundable in the event of cancellation by the couple.
  • A firm booking is not made for your ceremony until the deposit is paid.
  • The balance of the fee is payable at least ONE WEEK before the ceremony.

Should I be unable to perform your ceremony on the day, a replacement celebrant will be organised. All “relief” celebrants are professional members of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants (AFCC).
